This historical property was known as the Phillip's House and was built circa 1820. It is a three bay Federal Style building with a Colonial Revival protico and porch additional plus a later addition on the northeast side. This brick structure has good architectural significance since there has been only moderate modification affecting the structure. Of particular interest are corbelled brick, cornice raking, paraoet and the parapet chimneys which are intact.

Who Was Mary Frances Barton?

Frances Barton was the mother of the current owner Thomas Chasler. She was an exceptional human being who spent here life touching countless people with her courage, faith, humor, selflessness and modesty. She was born in 1921 in Donora Pennsylvanania and died suddenly on July 10th 1987. Her son had just purchased the property a month before her death. On her last visit, the week before she died, she marveled on the beauty of the house. It was very fitting to name a beautiful building after a beautiful woman.
